Bruce Springsteen Endorses Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, denouncing former President Donald Trump as "the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime." Springsteen, 75, posted a nearly three-minute video to his social media pages Thursday afternoon, recorded from inside Roberto's Freehold Grill in Freehold, a diner he's often visited.

How many unhoused illegal immigrants have he and his wife provided housing for on their 400-acre farm? His net-worth is over 500 million. They can afford to share their wealth and joy with the best and brightest!

And this matters why?

Who TF cares what these overblown egos, who start believing they're as great as their hangers-on tell them they are, really think.

I don't.

"Who TF cares what these overblown egos ... followed by: "I don't."

Quite obviously you do, Bill. By commenting.

Oh, yes... You TF care.

Well that settles it!

I'm not voting at all now.

Only one major party that I know of that constantly not only cares what celebrities have to say, but actually elects them into office. From P.T. Barnum to Sonny Bono to Gopher to the Gipper. And of course the only party that actually elected a pro-wrestler into the highest office in the land.
Hint: It ain't the Dems.

From the cited article...

... See the full transcription of his endorsement below:
... Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime. His disdain for the sanctity of our Constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again. He doesn't understand the meaning of this country, its history, or what it means to be deeply American.

On the other hand, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity. And they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just the few like me on top. That's the vision of America I've been consistently writing about for 55 years.

Now, everybody sees things different, and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen. But like you, I've only got one vote. It's one of the most precious possessions that I have. That's why, come November 5, I'll be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Thanks for listening." ...

To be honest I am not a Springsteen fan, quite the contrary. I remember from the 70's when (then great) WNEW-FM in NYC was quite enamored of Mr Springsteen, calling him "King Bruce" on the air when introducing his songs. I also went to college in NJ and there were a lot of NJ shore Brothers in my Frat. They played Mr Springsteen incessantly on their stereos (they knew of him when he played the local bars in their hometowns). By the time 1980 rolled around, I was quite tired of hearing Mr Springsteen, and that view has not really changed since then.

That aside...

Fmr Rep Cheney, speaking at a VP Harris campaign event in Wisconsin recently (yesterday?) stated something remarkably similar to what Mr Springsteen stated.

Hans,

"Quite obviously you do, Bill. By commenting."

Quite the contrary.

I find it interesting these people think so highly of themselves they believe their opinion matters.

In reality their lives have been filled with yes men who constantly cater to their egos for a living.

And sadly a lot of people have some sort of celebrity worship mentality.

#16 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2024-10-04 06:45 PM

Hans,

Some celebrities are fairly bright but there are many more people who are unknowns and much brighter.

The more pompous they come off, the less likely I will respect anything they say.

@#16 ... I find it interesting these people think so highly of themselves they believe their opinion matters. ...

Their opinion does matter, in the voting booth when they cast their ballot.

Everything beside that is, imo, does not matter to me.

However, to the fans of the stars, maybe what is said does matter?

How different is someone listening to Mr Springsteen than someone listening to the celebs supporting fmr Pres Trump?

Laura,

How f dumb are you anyway?

I've said Trump is not my choice for Republican candidate but I have no choice since he is the nominee.

And Harris is out of the question.

You don't have to vote for either of them Bill Johnson. You can vote none of the above. Don't forget when you vote for a candidate you tacitly support them.

#22 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2024-10-04 08:07 PM

@#21 ... but I have no choice ...

When you enter the voting booth, you always have a choice.

Please stop trying to say you have no choice, when you do have a choice.

Whether or not you have a choice is something you need to look inward to resolve.

Don't try to blame it upon some outside force.

BJ just wants to vote Republican. He doesn't care who the candidate is.

@#26 ... I absolutely will do whatever I can, in my limited capacity, to prevent liberals from having more power. ...

And i have never had any manner of an issue with that.

Your capacity is not limited. It is the same capacity as any other American voter. One person, one vote.

That said ....

Go out. Knock on doors. Support the candidates you prefer.

Do it.

It Is Your Right.

But to say that you have no choice, well that is a different thing.

You always have a choice.

And that choice is between you and the ballot you cast.

There are no real liberal candidates BillJohnson. You insufferable insolent Dummkopf. I wished like hell that we did. We would go a long ways in cleaning up America if we did.

--just suffered through this artist obviously reading from a cue card.

--so passionate about his vote that he can't just talk about it like most of you...and I could....talk
about why we're voting for who we're voting for ?

--and this is supposed to make some difference ?

people like this guy....a man who sold his music catalogue for half a billion dollars has nothing to worry about.

the worst possible policy coming from a president harris will effect him........IN NO WAY !!!

No condition of the country...save perhaps nuclear war....will make even a slight difference in his life.

--like covid he'll have some sap go out and get what he needs...

but here's what is going on

he's desparate for some "taylor swift clout" because she had drained all of the "oxygen" the narcissist room

and that's okay too because that's part of being a performing artist.

just don't sit there in your little make believe diner with that stupid coat on and think I give a damn

about your choice.

If Springsteen motivates even 100 people to vote for Harris, his effort was worthwhile.

Everything beyond that is your sour grapes.
